Everyone loves bubbles don’t they? I prefer mine chilled and in a glass, but I happen to know two little boys who like to chase and pop them, make beards from them in the bath and wave a wand and watch them fly high into the sky. And, don’t get me started on the amount of bubble machines that we’ve purchased!
So, when we were approached by Uncle Bubble to test out their bubble mega loop Stanley and James couldn’t wait to start making giant bubbles. As soon as our gifted mega loop kit arrived, Stanley wanted me to put him inside a bubble…thanks Stan, no pressure!

Knowing that my bubbleologist skills are decidedly lacking, I read all the instructions beforehand and decided that a practice session was in order. I made up the bubble mixture to the recommended strength by adding cold water, blew up the inflatable bubble ring and put the loop and handle together with a few clicks. So far, so good!

One grey and rainy afternoon in the Easter holidays, we decided to have our practice session. The kitchen was my chosen destination as I thought the hard floor would be nice and level (as recommended) and also make it easy to clean up any bubbly spills (which were inevitable with an excited 4 year old and 2 year old to contend with!)
Here’s how we got on!

After the (pretty successful) trial run we waited for a dry day and decided to take our mega loop kit al fresco…off we went to the local park! Being outside came with additional challenges, the first was finding level ground. As we were on grass we found the flattest bit and set up there, but we had to improvise and prop up one side of the bubble ring slightly.
It was a fairly still day but even a slight breeze was enough to pop the bubbles before I’d really had chance to lift the loop up but, with a bit of repositioning I worked with the breeze by lifting the furthest side of the loop first. Success!

I managed to put Stanley inside a mega bubble again, his face was a picture! By this time we were being watched by a few children who clapped and cheered with each successful bubble! We be bubblin’!
The Uncle Bubble Mega Loop was a lot of fun to use and even our failed attempts had us laughing.

Finally, Stanley wanted to have a go and try to make some bubbles himself. The kit is for ages 6 years + so it was no surprise that Stan struggled with the size of the loop. He did however make a small bubble tube up from the ring. He was pretty pleased with that!

We’ve now used up all of our mega loop bubble concentrate but I’ll be buying some more with the aim of taking our loop on holiday in the summer – it will be great fun on the beach!
